2019 - Mauritius

 

 

This was our fist long distance trip with Tobi.

We went to Sofitel Imperial Resort & Spa, a beautiful hotel right at the beach side.

With an nice diving club, the Nemo Dive Center. Offering two trips a day with a small boat. However, dive spots are close by and they are really, really beautiful. Just one is a bid further away, close to the Port Louis harbor and close to the cruise ship anchor area. However, this is the best one due to the variety of ocean life, especially the nice turtles which are to be found there.

Very close by, just aroudn the corner are the spots Aquarium (speaks for itself), Cathedrale (with nice rock formations) and Cloine Bambou. At some of those areas we even encountered sharks, bull sharks

 

The hotel is located right at the beach of southern Flic en Flac. Surrounded in the northern part of other hotels like Hilton, in the southern part there are public beaches and nice beach areas which are good for a walk. However, a bid isolated still.

For activities outside of the hotel you would need a rental care, or just one of the taxis which are around.

Nice activities and areas to visit are definitely Casela Nature Park with its animals and open truck safari, shopping at Cascavelle shopping mall.

And of course round trips through the island with the breathtaking nature, hills, waterfalls (like 7 Cascades, Alexandra Falls, Chamarel-Falls), volcanic areas and historical sides, especially Ganga Talao with the Hindu temple.
